
Mr Bafikile Bonke Simelane
Mr Bonke Simelane is a Director at Alwyn Laubscher & Associates (AL&A), a consulting company specializing in Development Management, Project Management and Construction Project Management in the Built Environment. He possesses a rich breadth and depth of experience, knowledge, understanding and expertise in Infrastructure Procurement, Programme Management and Delivery Management acquired in over 25 years in a variety of senior, strategic management and leadership roles. He is Vice-President of South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) and a Council Member of Council for the Built Environment (CBE).
He was also President of Master Builders South Africa (MBSA) and co-authored its Transformation Declaration. Mr Simelane has led some prominent flagship Transit Oriented Developments (TOD) related to infrastructure projects in South Africa such as the FIFA 2009 Confederations Cup, FIFA 2010 World Cup including NASREC Train Station (PRASA) and the Rea Vaya Bus Rapid Transit for the Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA).
He holds a National Diploma in Building from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT); a Construction Management Degree from the University of Johannesburg (UJ); Post- Graduate studies like the Construction Management Programme (CMP) from Stellenbosch University and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Project Management for Built Environment Professionals from the University of Pretoria.
